Default How to admin your first server: The basics

This is a small thread for those who ask commonly asked questions, all easy to understand! It's expanding off Mike's FAQ [:

Help me please, I don't know how to add myself as an admin!
If you are running sourcemod, this step is easy.
On efrag, go to your control panel. Hit the button that says "cfg". Scroll down and click on addons/sourcemod/configs/admins_simple.ini

You'll be displayed with a mostly blank file with some commentary.

To add yourself to the list, simply enter your STEAM ID at the bottom of the file, followed by a "z". If your are unsure of how to find this out or how to enter it, read below:

To find your steam ID, join a server, open the developer console (¬) and type status. Beside your name should be a set of numbers. For example: "STEAM_0:0:123456789".

So, now you have your Steam ID. You must enter it at the BOTTOM of the file like this;

"STEAM_0:0:123456789" "99:z"

This will give you unlimited admin rights with the maximum immunity level (stops other admins from kicking you).
Save, restart the server or force a mapchange. Type !admin or /admin to access the features.

Think you could sticky it for the other game forums to? It's just in the CSS one at the moment!

As stated at the top:

Help me please, I don't know how to add myself as an admin!
If you are running sourcemod, this step is easy.

If you install sourcemod from the add/remove plugins area, all configs mentioned in this guide are easily viewable.

If you added the 99:z as I showed in the guide, you will have all admin powers available to you. What powers are available depends on your setup and what plugins you have running. If you're running sourcemod right out the box without any extras, the admin features you'll have will be very basic (kick, ban, slay etc).
Type /admin to bring up the admin menu, otherwise /sm_admin may work.
